LEWISTON, Maine --
Ally Friedman's impressive No. 2 singles victory proved to be the highlight of an otherwise tough day for Bates College women's tennis as the #38 Bobcats dropped an 8-1 decision to #4 Wesleyan University Saturday in NESCAC action.
Friedman, taking on the Cardinals' Caitlyn Ferrante, took the first set by a 6-2 score before falling in set two, 4-6. With the match tied at 1-1, the Bobcat junior escaped with the win, outlasting the Wesleyan senior, 11-9, in the tie-breaker and earning the lone point of the day for the garnet and white.
