LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College men's tennis collected its second-straight victory (and second in a row vs. a nationally-ranked foe) as the Bobcats defeated #30 Skidmore College, 7-2, Saturday at home in Merrill Gymnasium.
It was a clean sweep in doubles play for the garnet and white.
Cam Davis-Kania (Sr.-Middlefield, Conn.) and
Alexander Gujarathi (Jr.-Plymouth, Mass.) opened with an 8-5 win vs. Brendan Jimenez and Nika Mori in the #1 position while
Matthew Danielson (Jr.-St. Petersburg, Fla.) and
Leo Kupferman (Sr.-Montclair, N.J.) held on for an 8-6 triumph over Griffin Biernat and Sergiu Celebidachi at #2.
Nick Forester (Sr.-Falmouth, Maine) and
Teddy Koide (Sr.-Morristown, N.J.) kept the trend going at #3 with an 8-4 defeat of Kyle Lundberg and Joseph Wilkanowski.
Davis-Kania carried the momentum over to singles action as the senior sent off Jimenez (6-3, 7-6 (8-6)) in the top spot. Kupferman, at the #3 position, posted a win of 6-3, 6-3 over Biernat.
Koide handled Lundberg in the #5 slot (6-2, 6-1) while Danielson defeated Jude Ogilvie (6-1, 6-1) at #6.

The Bobcats move to 3-5 with the win while Skidmore falls to 6-4 on the year. Bates takes to the road for its next action, a visit to Hamilton College next Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
