LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 1 doubles team of sophomores
Alexander Gujarathi and
Matthew Danielson fought hard at the top of the lineup but the Bates men's tennis team fell 9-0 to No. 18 nationally ranked Amherst Saturday morning.
Gujarathi (Plymouth, Mass.) and Danielson (St. Petersburg, Fla.) gave the Amherst team of Damien Ruparel and Sujit Chepuri all they could handle in an 8-7 (6) loss at the top of the lineup.
Playing without juniors
Nick Forester (Falmouth, Maine) and
Leo Kupferman (Montclair, N.J.), the young Bobcats continue to gain valuable experience looking toward the future.
Bates (3-11, 1-8 NESCAC) wraps up the 2022 regular season Sunday morning at 10am when the Bobcats host Hamilton at the Wallach Tennis Center.
