LEWISTON, Maine -- Four Bobcats scored in double figures and the Bates women's basketball team defeated Colby 75-62 in NESCAC action Tuesday night at Alumni Gymnasium.
Bates (12-6, 4-3 NESCAC) used a big second quarter where the Bobcats outscored the Mules (9-9, 1-8 NESCAC) by a count of 22-8 to pull away for the win.
Senior
Mia Roy (Bedford, N.H.) and junior
Brianna Gadaleta (Chappaqua, N.Y.) led the way for Bates with 18 points each. Roy hit four of nine from three-point range while Gadaleta was an efficient 7-9 from the floor. Gadaleta also grabbed seven rebounds.

Meghan Graff (South Portland, Maine) tallied 16 points on 6-12 shooting and a game-high five assists. Senior
Ariana Dalia (Brick, N.J.) added 11 points, a game-high nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Sophomore
Morgan Kennedy (Oklahoma City, Okla.) added eight points and three assists, knocking down a pair of three-pointers in the win.
Caroline Smith led the Mules with a game-high 22 points on 9-18 shooting. Keagan Dunbar added 16 points and Chiamaka Ubani added 11 points on 4-6 shooting and a team-high seven rebounds.
The game stood tied at 14 at the end of one quarter, as Bates struggled from three-point range (0-7) to start the game. The Bobcats turned things around in a big way in the second quarter, knocking down four of six from deep.
With Bates trailing 18-17, Dalia made a layup on an assist from Kennedy with 7:26 left in the second quarter, putting the Bobcats ahead for good.
Up 24-22 with 5:01 remaining in the second, Bates went on a 12-0 run to end the half, opening up a 36-22 advantage by halftime. Graff started the run with a three-pointer and Kennedy hit a three as well to key the Bobcats.
The Mules chipped away at the Bates lead early in the third quarter, making the score 40-33 with 5:36 left on a Smith layup. A quick 7-0 run from Bates, culminating in Kennedy's second three of the game, put the Bobcats back up by 14 with 3:17 on the clock.
Colby did not get within single digits again down the stretch and the Bobcats led by as many as 23 points in the fourth quarter.
Bates cleaned up on the offensive glass, recording 20 second chance points on the night to Colby's eight. The Bobcats hit eight three-pointers on the night to Colby's three.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday night when they welcome Bowdoin to town for Senior Night. Tip is set for 7pm.
