NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Bates men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with conference power Connecticut College on Saturday but fell by a score of 1-0.
The defensive battle saw the host Camels (8-2-1, 4-2-1) manage only five shots on goal while the Bobcats (6-3-1, 2-3-1) only tallied two shots on goal. The lone goal in the match came in the 18th minute as Mark Leon snuck one past Bates keeper Sam Polito unassisted to put Connecticut up 1-0.
Polito finished with four saves in the match while his counterpart Austin Dacunha tallied two saves.
Bates got shots on goal from Sean Moyo and Max Watson. Besides that, it was slow going for the offense as they managed just three shots overall. Connecticut College, on the other hand, tallied 15 shots.
Men's soccer visits Curry on Wednesday with the match starting at 7:00 p.m.
