WATERVILLE, Maine -- Bates College won all six singles matches on the way to a 7-2 victory over Colby College in men's tennis Wednesday.
Bates finishes the season 6-7. The match did not count in the NESCAC standings: under the conference's new structure for the tournament, Bates was put into a group with Bowdoin, Williams, Middlebury, Connecticut College and Amherst and finished 2-3 in that group, thus out of contention for the NESCAC Championships.
Bates sophomore Ben Stein (Pelham, N.Y.) defeated Colby's Brody Saunders at first singles to finish the year 11-2 in singles play.
