WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Williams College sophomore Elspeth MacMillan scored two goals as the host Ephs defeated Bates College 3-1 at rainy Renzie Lamb Field.
Bates senior forward Brooke Anable (Holderness, N.H.) provided the lone bright spot for the Bobcats (3-5, 1-4 NESCAC), scoring her second goal of the year with 25:07 to play and closing the gap to 3-1.
Bates goalkeeper Sarah Judice (Granby, Conn.) had 15 saves, while Williams counterpart Emily Wasserman had six.
Williams (7-1, 4-1) scored all three of its goals in the first half, and outshot Bates 23-9. The Ephs had 15 penalty corners to the Bobcats' one.
Bates hosts Bowdoin on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 4:30 p.m.
