Gidlow was a star last week in a pair of wins for the women's tennis team. She teamed with Elise Hepburn '27 at No. 2 doubles and picked up a 7-5 victory Friday at Smith. She also earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles as Bates had no problem defeating the Pioneers 9-0. Then on Sunday, Gidlow and Hepburn once again won at No. 2 doubles, this time by a count of 6-1 against their opponents from No. 16 nationally ranked Williams. But it was in singles where Gidlow secured Bobcat of the Week honors, rallying from a set down to win 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, clinching a 4-3 victory over Williams for Bates, the women's tennis's program's first win over Williams...ever, and their first win over a top-25 opponent since 2012.
