Schmidt has dominated in the face-off circle so far this season for the Bobcats.

He won 12-13 faceoffs on Wednesday in an 18-4 win over Emerson, dishing out an assist and recording five ground balls.

Then on Saturday, he won the opening faceoff and immediately scored a goal, setting the tone in a 14-8 win over Hamilton. Schmidt went on to win 20-23 faceoffs while recording a game-high 12 ground balls against the Continentals.

Through three games this year, Schmidt has recorded an incredible face-off percentage of .897 (52-58).

Bates is 3-0 for the first time since 2017.
