First-year Greta Hendrickson led the way in the 1.3K freestyle sprint on Friday, finishing an impressive 14th in the qualifier in 3:08.58. She finished sixth in her quarterfinal in 2:58.50, good for 27th out of 105 skiers and 17 carnival points.
She continued her impressive debut weekend with a 20th place finish out of 103 competitors in the 9.1K freestyle Saturday at Black Mountain, as the Nordic skiing teams wrapped up the Bates Carnival.
Hendrickson (Duluth, Minn.) and the rest of the Nordic skiers competed on a modified course, racing seven 1.3K loops on day two, with Hendrickson crossing the finish line in 27:14.8. Her performance earned Bates 22 carnival points and Hendrickson picked up 11 NCAA points.
