Bates men's track and field senior captain Truman Williams broke a pair of school records on Saturday, highlighting the first meets of the indoor track and field season for the Bobcats.

Williams (Montclair, N.J.) and most of the team competed at the New Balance Early Bird Invite, held at the TRACK at new balance. He took second place out of 76 runners in the 200-meter dash, winning his section with a school-record time of 22.01 seconds. Williams breaks the previous Bates indoor record of 22.19 seconds, set by Colby Stakun-Pickering '23 in 2023.

The talented sprinter entered the meet already holding the Bates record in the indoor 400-meter dash at 49.05 seconds, which he set last February. Williams proceeded to break that mark on Saturday, winning his section and taking second place overall out of 24 runners with a time of 48.53 seconds.
