Moellering set personal records in five of seven events on his way to 3,667 points in the heptathlon at the Bates Invitational, earning him the ninth spot on the Bates all-time top-10 list.
His marks of 10-2 (3.10m) in the pole vault, 34-0.25 (10.37m) in the shot put, 18-8 (5.69m) in the long jump, 10.12 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, and 7.83 seconds in the 60-meter dash were all personal records. On top of that, Moellering won the 1,000 meters in 3:04.99.
