The Bates men's swimming and diving team opened the season with a sweep of Wesleyan and Wheaton (Mass.), with Cory finishing first in four races. Cory won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:45.51 and led a 1-2 Bates finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 46.79, the 10th fastest time in the 100 free in Bates men's swimming history.

He also helped Bates win both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
