Playing out of position for the second straight week, senior co-captain Andrew Kukesh totaled a game-high 10 tackles (nine solo) including two for a loss in last week’s game against Colby to earn Bobcat of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 21-27.

After starting at safety for the first 28 games of his career, Kukesh started at outside linebacker vs. Middlebury on Oct. 19 – making nine solo tackles (three for loss) – prior to playing at inside linebacker against the Mules.

On the season, the Exeter, N.H., native ranks fourth in the NESCAC with 10.0 tackles per game. He has amassed at least eight tackles in each game this year and leads the team in tackles (61) and solo stops (46). In his career to date, he has made 209 tackles over 30 games (7.0 tackles per game).

Kukesh and the Bobcats host Bowdoin on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on Garcelon Field as part of Homecoming Weekend in the final home game for Bates’ Class of 2014.
