Senior Julia Hanlon came in 22nd-place overall and paced the women’s cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the ECAC Championship to gain Bobcat of the Week accolades for the week of Nov. 4-10.

The Cambridge, Mass., product completed the 6-kilometer course in 23:29.30 to lead No. 21 Bates in a field of 327 runners. Hanlon – in her first season on the team – helped the Bobcats total 223 points as a team to gain their positioning with No. 2 Middlebury winning the event with 30 points.

Sophomore Addie Cullenberg followed closely behind Hanlon with a 24th-place finish in a time of 23:36.81 while first-year Jessica Wilson (54th, 24:24.79), sophomore Julia Fisher (60th, 24:37.75), and first-year Molly Chisholm (63rd, 24:43.48) also factored into the scoring for the Bobcats.

Roger Williams University hosted the annual race at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I., on Saturday.

Next, Bates will compete at NCAA Regionals at the Narragansett School in Gorham, Maine on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. From there, the team will hope to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships held on Nov. 23 in Hanover, Ind.
