Junior thrower Sean Enos earned two All-America honors, including a second-place finish in the shot put, at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend to gain Bobcat of the Week accolades for the week of March 10-16.

Enos tossed a personal-best 57 feet, 8.25 inches in the shot put on Saturday at the University of Nebraska after gaining an eighth-place finish in the weight throw on Friday with a throw of 60 feet, 9.25 inches or 18.52 meters.

The Lynnfield, Mass., native earned his second and third All-America honors at the meet after finishing fourth in the discus at the NCAA outdoor championships in 2013. He became only the third Bobcat to garner All-America honors in three different throwing disciplines, joining David Pless ’13 and Peter Goodrich ’89. He is Bates’ third All-American in the shot put along with Pless and Ethan Waldman ’11.

In the shot put, Enos stood in third place after the preliminary rounds but moved into second after his first throw in the finals. He notched his best effort in the weight throw on his first attempt and remained in eighth place through the preliminary and final rounds.

Enos and the Bobcats begin the outdoor season on March 28 at the University of Maine at Orono.
