Senior Kevin Davis helped Bates baseball to a 3-1 week last week, recording a .529 batting average (9-for-17), 11 RBIs, five runs scored, four doubles, and a grand slam to earn Bobcat of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 31 to Apr. 6.
The North Andover, Mass., native posted his best performance of the week in the Bobcats’ 13-7 win over Bowdoin in game one on Sunday. Davis went 3-for-4 in the tilt with seven RBIs, his grand slam, two doubles, and three runs scored as Bates took two out of three in the NESCAC East Division series.
The 6-3, 200-pound third baseman followed that effort with a 2-for-4 performance in the nightcap, notching an RBI double in Bates’ ninth-inning rally in a 6-2 loss. In the series’ first game on Friday, Davis enjoyed a 3-for-5 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored as the Bobcats snagged a 9-1 victory.
On Thursday in the team’s 3-1 win at St. Joseph’s College of Maine he charted an RBI double in the seventh inning.
This season, Davis leads the team with a .409 average and ranks among NESCAC leaders in hits (27, t-fourth), runs batted in (19, second), and doubles (seven, t-third).
Davis and the Bobcats return to play at Clark University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
