Senior captain Angeleque Hartt helped women’s track set a new school record in the 4x100-meter relay and ran a personal-best time in her last collegiate race to gain Bobcat of the Week accolades for the week of May 12-18.
This past weekend at the ECAC Championships, the Bronx, N.Y., native teamed with junior Quincy Snellings (Lexington, Mass.), first-year Allison Hill (Brunswick, Maine), and sophomore Alexis Dickinson (Brunswick, Maine) to register a time of 48.46 seconds in the 4x100, breaking their own school record of 48.81 from earlier this year. The team finished fourth in the event for five team points.
That success marked the second weekend in a row in which Hartt aided a relay team in setting a school record. Last weekend at Open New Englands, the Park East High School product ran with junior Sarah Fusco (Cheshire, Conn.), sophomore Melanie Ehrenberg (Rumson, N.J.), and first-year Claire Markonic (Millerton, N.Y.) to clock in at 3:52.48 in the 4x400-meter relay, coming in sixth in the race for three points.
The relay eclipsed the former record of 3:53.78 which Lizzy Carleton, Ansley Flanagan, Jenny Fucillo, and Dana Lindauer set in 2011.
In her final collegiate race on Sunday, Hartt established a new personal record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.72 seconds, finishing in 14th place at the meet.
