Sophomore four-time All-American Sara Daher captured first place in both the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.93) and 200 indvidual medley (2:12.28) in Saturday afternoon's dual meet against the University of Maine, Bates' first home meet of the season.
Daher (Marblehead, Mass.) also finished a close second, 0.25 seconds from first place, in the 200 free at 1:57.57.
"Sara was unstoppable today," said head coach Peter Casares.
Daher is one of the cornerstones of a potent Bates women's swimming and diving team that enjoyed its best season since the NESCAC began holding conference championship meets in 2000.
Daher and the Bobcats have their annual training trip to Florida coming up, before they resume meet competition at Norwich University on Jan. 10 and at NESCAC rival Middlebury on Jan. 11.
