Bates senior Sean Enos won both throwing events in a particularly competitive field for a tri-meet on Saturday at MIT, vaulting himself into third place on this season's Division III performance lists in the first indoor meet of his senior year.
Enos (Lynnfield, Mass.), a five-time All-American, threw against not only Colby and MIT at the meet, including fellow NCAA Championship competitor Ken Cooper of the host Engineers. But because the meet was also an alumni meet for the three schools, he also went up against some heavyweights of recent Bobcat vintage, such as two-time All-American Chris Murtagh '11 and three-time All-American Rich McNeil '10.
Enos won the shot put in 54-2.5, ahead of Cooper's 52-7.25. Enos then topped the field by a wide margin in the weight throw, winning in 61-2.75 and making clear to the rest of the Division III track world that there will be no let-up in Enos's senior year.
