Bates senior captain Sean Enos (Lynnfield, Mass.) led the Bobcats men's track and field team to their sixth state outdoor title in a row and their 13th in the past 14 years at the state meet, which was first held in 1895 and has taken place in all but four years since.

Enos broke the meet, facility and Bates team records in the hammer throw with his top effort of 62.18 meters, or 204 feet, achieved on his second attempt of the day. The seven-time All-American broke the 49-year-old state meet record of 197-1 set by Alex Schulten of Bowdoin in 1966. Both the facility and Bates team records were formerly held by Enos's close friend and former teammate, 10-time All-American David Pless '13. Pless's team record of 201-11 was set in 2013, and his Russell Street Track facility record of 194-8 was set in 2012.

Enos, Bates' seven-time All-American, also won the shot put (53-3.5) and discus throw (154-5) to claim the Frederick Tootel Memorial Most Valuable Field Athlete award for the first time. His previous career best in the hammer was 198-11, set last year.

Enos was named NESCAC Men's Field Performer of the Week for his performance Saturday.
