Senior captain Julien Lewin shot a second-day, even-par score of 72, leading the Bates men's golf team to a seventh-place finish out of 10 teams on the second day of the NESCAC Championship Fall Qualifier at Sandy Burr Country Club. Lewin earned an individual invitation to play in the NESCAC Men's Golf Championship in the spring.

Lewin (Seattle, Wash.) followed his 78 on Saturday with the 72, tied for the fourth-best round on the day, to finish in a six-way tie for 12th place among 50 players. Lewin carded six birdies on the day.

Bates' two-day, four-man combined score of 620 was good for seventh place out of 10 teams, 10 strokes ahead of eighth-place Wesleyan and 10 strokes behind sixth-place Amherst.

Lewin becomes the first Bates men's golfer to earn at-large invitation to the NESCAC Championships in the spring since the rules were adjusted in 2017
