First-year Tyler Bridge (Wells, Maine) rushed for a season-high 188 yards and the Bates football team routed Bowdoin by a final score of 30-5 Saturday night at Garcelon Field. He recorded the most individual rushing yards in a game for Bates since Sean Atkins ran for 302 against Bowdoin in 2002.

Bridge averaged 6.7 yards per carry and scored his first collegiate touchdown when he ran untouched into the end zone from three yards out early in the second quarter, putting Bates up 14-0.

Bates (1-7) gained 523 yards on the night, their most in one game since Oct. 22, 2011, when they gained 537 yards in a 49-43 loss to Middlebury.
