Senior captain Allison Hill broke the Bates women's track and field team's 36-year-old indoor 200-meter dash record on Boston University's banked track, highlighting a big day at the John Thomas Terrier Classic Friday for the Bobcats.

Hill ran the 200 in 25.45 seconds, 0.5 seconds under her former personal best. The former Bates record was set in 1981 by Donna Broadway, who recorded a hand-held time of 25.4 seconds -- which converts to 25.64 seconds in automatic timing.

Prior to the 200, Hill also ran the second-best time in her career and her best this season in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.86 seconds -- 0.02 off of her own team record time.

Hill owns or shares Bates' indoor records in the 200, the 60 hurdles and the 4x200 relay, as well as outdoor records in the 100 hurdles, 200-meter dash and 4x100 relay. The outdoor 200 record she shares with Dana Lindauer '11 (25.49) is 0.04 seconds higher than her new indoor standard.
