Bates men's track and field recaptured the Maine State Men's Indoor Championships, outscoring runner-up Bowdoin by nine points to win the 49th edition of the meet for the 14th time, including four in the past five years.

Senior captain Patrick Griffin (Harvard, Mass.) was named Most Valuable Track Athlete after his victory in the 800-meter run in 1:55.62 and running a leg in Bates' winning 4x800 relay race. 

Bates finished with 185 points, followed in the team standings by Bowdoin (176), Colby (105), Southern Maine (82) and St. Joseph's (6).
