Junior Allison Dewey scooped up a loose ball at midfield, charged ahead and scored the game-winning goal with 2:48 remaining in overtime, as the Bates women's lacrosse team won an 8-7 thriller over Williams in NESCAC play Saturday afternoon at Garcelon Field.

Williams' Emma Tenbarge controlled the draw taken at the midway point of the 6-minute overtime period, but soon after she dropped the ball. Dewey was able to pick up the ball on the bounce and run 30 yards upfield unimpeded. She shot into the top of the net to end the game, giving the Bobcats (5-3, 1-3 NESCAC) their first conference victory of the season. Dewey finished the game with two goals and one assist. She tallied a total of two ground balls and also caused a turnover in the win.
