The Bates Nordic skiing teams had their carnival season-opening races postponed on Saturday. But on Sunday, the Bobcats got their season underway at the Colby Carnival, with the men finishing with the eighth-best team score (108 points) in a field of 13 teams in the 10K freestyle race.
Sophomore Graham Houtsma (Aspen, Colo.) led the men by finishing 19th overall out of 99 men with a time of 29:15.9. It's the second best carnival finish ever in Houtsma's career. And for his efforts, he is the Male Bobcat of the Week!
