Senior captain Parker McDonald turned in the best performance of his career so far with a sixth place finish out of 97 collegiate competitors in the men's 10-kilometer classical technique race to lead the Bates Nordic skiing teams Saturday at the St. Michael's Carnival.

McDonald (Wolcott, Colo.) raced to the finish in 24:58.50, earning 37 carnival points and 40 NCAA points.

On Sunday, McDonald finished 17th out of 86 in the men's 15-kilometer freestyle race to pace the Bobcats for the second straight day. This time he raced to the finish in 39:57.7, good for 25 carnival points and 14 NCAA points.
