Senior captain Aleks Marceau scored his first career goal and the Bates men's soccer team scored three times in the second half to defeat Emerson by a score of 3-0 Sunday afternoon. 

After tallying 10 shots in the first half without scoring a goal, the Bobcats broke through in the 57th minute. Marceau (Newton, Mass.) connected with junior Austin Sansone for a header that found the back of the net.

Marceau didn't waste much time to score a goal of his own. In the 58th minute, he tallied an unassisted score to extend the Bates lead to 2-0.

The Bobcats (7-4) are back in action Wednesday when they visit Thomas College for a match that gets underway at 8pm.
