Hill traveled to the NCAA Championships as an alternate, not expecting to row. She didn't row in Friday's heats but stepped in due to injury and rowed in the fifth seat of the women's second varsity eight in their grand final later that same day, helping Bates take fifth place in the race and second place overall at the regatta.
