Aaron Morse is entering his 10th year at Bates in 2024-25 and is the Associate Athletic Communications Director for the college.

He is the creator and host of the "Bates Bobcast," a weekly podcast that takes a look at the week that was in Bates athletics, featuring interviews with student-athletes and coaches. Morse also produces video features on the Bobcats and is the play-by-play voice for all Bates basketball and baseball home games on the Northeast Sports Network.

Morse's writing has been recognized by the NCAA and College Sports Communicators. His feature story on Johnny Walker '24 earned the D3SIDA Recognition award and Morse's feature stories on former Bates men's cross country and track and field head coach Al Fereshetian, the undefeated 1989 Bates women's volleyball teamthe only Bobcat to be drafted by a professional football team, and women's swimmer Lauryn Boucree '21 all earned regional honors in the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest.

Prior to coming to Bates, Morse was Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Florence Freedom Professional Baseball team for two seasons, helping the Freedom win the Frontier League's "Organization of the Year" award in 2015. The team has since changed its name to the Florence "Y'alls."

From 2011 through 2013 he served in a similar capacity for the Joliet Slammers, an expansion team in the Frontier League that won the league championship and Ballpark Digest's "Logo and Branding of the Year" award in Morse's first season with the franchise.

Morse graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2010, where he spent four years broadcasting Big Ten athletics on WNUR, the Northwestern student radio station. He served as the sports director of the station during his junior year and was on the broadcast team for two college football bowl games, both very exciting losses for the Wildcats. Morse also was part of a TV production team that took home a national collegiate Emmy for the show SportsNight on the Northwestern News Network in 2007. As a senior, Morse was named one of the top 20 collegiate sports broadcasters in the country by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Morse is a lifelong Mariners and Seahawks fan. He used to root for an NBA team called the Seattle SuperSonics (1967-2008) and is excited that Seattle at long last has an NHL team, the Kraken!

Morse and his wife Christina make their home in Auburn and enjoy spoiling her brother's dog, Ella.
