Bates College

Marianne serves as the faculty liaison for the Bates alpine skiing program, bringing a unique connection to the team as an alumna of both Bates College and the Bates Alpine Ski Team.

At Bates, Marianne directs and evaluates curricular and faculty engagement initiatives for the Center for Purposeful Work. She manages several of the Center’s distinctive curricular programs and also serves as a member of its counseling staff, providing guidance to students as they explore career interests and professional pathways. She also advises Bobcat Ventures and supports Purposeful Work’s entrepreneurship programming.

Before joining the original Purposeful Work Design Team, Marianne served for many years in senior alumni relations and fundraising roles at Bates. She also worked with a public health startup and supported faculty development and grant writing at the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University at Buffalo.

A graduate of Bates’ French and Francophone Studies program, Marianne earned her bachelor’s degree from Bates and a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo. She holds a Certified Career Services Provider credential from the National Career Development Association and serves as president of the Maine Career Development Association.
