Katie Jones

Head Coach Princess L. Zabel has announced Katie Jones as assistant coach for the Bates College women's lacrosse program, effective July 28, 2025. Jones, who hails from Franklin, Mass., joins the Bobcats for the 2025-26 campaign and will work closely with the team's offense and draw unit.

A former NCAA Division I and III student-athlete, Jones suffered a season-ending injury at Endicott College during her senior season, but quickly transitioned into a student coach role for the Gulls. She worked closely with the team's offense and situational skill development. Her leadership and lacrosse IQ earned her high praise from mentors in the coaching community.

"Katie is an incredibly bright and passionate young coach," said Zabel. "Her ability to step into a leadership role at Endicott and make an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball speaks volumes. She has a great mind for the game, and I'm thrilled to have her energy and insight on staff."

Jones also brings a strong background in event operations and sport management, having completed internships with Elite Lacrosse and Zero Gravity Basketball. She also gained experience with the Kraft Sports Group as part of the New England Patriots and Revolution game day operations staff.

"I am so excited to be joining Bates women's lacrosse and the entire Bates community," said Jones. "This is a special opportunity to work with a talented group of student-athletes and be part of a program that values growth, teamwork and competitive spirit. I am looking forward to helping Bates compete on a national level and continue to build on the culture for which  Coach Zabel has laid the foundation. "

Jones recently earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Endicott, where she was a Presidential scholarship recipient. She previously played at NCAA Division I Lindenwood University (Mo.) before joining the Gulls.
