2008-2009: Indoor Track: Placed third in the 400-meterdash at a home tri-meet against MIT and Colby with a time of53.73...Was part o the 4x400-yard relay team finishing second atthe Brandeis Invitational with a time of 3:31.46...Placed ninth inthe 400-yard dash at the State of Maine Championships with a timeof 53.47 seconds...Part of the 4x400-relay team finishing 13th atthe New England DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships with atime of 3:34.94. 2007-2008: Indoor Track: Ran a 24.30 in the 200 meter dashat State of Maine Championships... Bates finished 20th in the 4x400relay at Open New Englands with a time of 3:27.44, the Bobcats'best time of the season, running the relay, in order, were RyanQuinn, Carlos Castro, Brett Epler and Emmanuel Drabo.
