Bates College

Greg Born P ’10, ’13 has been an avid long-time supporter of Bates squash. A resident of Westbrook, Maine, he is well known in Maine squash communities as having helped grow the sport through his efforts as volunteer squash coordinator for the Cumberland County YMCA in Portland.

He has worked tirelessly at marketing the sport, utilizing smart, modern technologies to encourage play and participation at all levels. As a board member of Portland Community Squash, he and others are actively working to bring an urban squash program and new modern squash facility to Portland.

Born has a long history in organized sports including competitive bowling, collegiate basketball, badminton and table tennis. He was introduced to squash a decade ago and has passionately participated and encouraged others to play and enjoy the sport. He brings the skills and experience of a parent of successful collegiate athletes mixed and blended with a belief that athletic competition and success is a whole life endeavor and should include working hard, having fun, promoting sportsmanship and solid citizenship.
