Junior captain Amanda Kaufman lowered her personal-best time by 0.02 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing second in the finals in 8.97 seconds at the New England Division III Indoor Championships. Kaufman ranks 18th in the country in the event.
She also helped Bates place third in the 4x400 relay. The squad currently ranks eighth in the nation, with an adjusted banked-track time of 3:55.03 from Feb. 14 at Boston University.
