First-year Omar Sarr (Dakar, Senegal) was a force at both ends of the floor, particularly on defense, in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. Sarr shot 11-for-18 (61.1%) from the field on the week and averaged 13.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 6.0 blocked shots per game.
Sarr had a terrific game for Bates against Amherst, scoring 11 points on 5-7 shooting. He tallied seven rebounds and blocked a season-high six shots.
Then he turned in another amazing performance on both ends of the floor against Hamilton in a 98-81 win for Bates, scoring 15 points on 6-11 shooting, grabbing a season-high 18 rebounds, and blocking six shots for the second straight day on defense.
Sarr is averaging 2.3 blocks per game, ranking third in the NESCAC.
