First-year Gabby Smart (Clinton, Mont.) won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:36.03, then went on to take first place in the 200 backstroke (2:08.25) Saturday at Dartmouth.
The No. 15 nationally ranked Bates women's swimming and diving team hosts NESCAC rival Middlebury in a dual meet with the men this Sunday, Jan. 12 beginning at 11am.
