WILMINGTON, Del. -- 13 members of the Bates women's rowing team have been named CRCA Scholar Athletes, as announced Tuesday by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

Maggie Gill '27 (Tenants Harbor, Maine),
Quinn Gleason '26 (Wayland, Mass.),
Elizabeth Gramley '25 (New York, N.Y.),
Tatum Holley '25 (Bedford, Mass.),
Maddie Kemp '25 (Bethesda, Md.),
Maggie Kornfeind '25 (Ringoes, N.J.),
Isabelle Martin '26 (Roslyn, Wash.),
Megan O'Donnell '27 (Wayland, Mass.),
Olivia Smith '26 (Lafayette, Ind.), and
Olivia Szachta '25 (Duxbury, Mass.) earned spots on the prestigious list for their achievements in the classroom and on the water.
To qualify, an athlete must meet academic and athletic requirements, such as being in at least their 2nd year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or race in an NCAA boat at their Conference Championship/NCAA Championship.
This award underscores the dual commitment of collegiate rowers who pursue athletic excellence while maintaining high academic standards—an embodiment of the scholar-athlete ideal.
