First-year Antonio Jareno (Marietta, Ga.) hit .478 (11-23) over the course of five games last week, smacking his first collegiate home run and driving in the eventual winning run with a double against Trinity on Saturday. He doubled three times and drove in five runs over the course of a 3-2 week for the Bobcats.

Jareno only had four at bats all season entering Tuesday's non-conference game at Husson. He went 3-5 against the Eagles with a double and an RBI. Then he went 2-5 with an RBI in the Bobcats' 6-0 win over the University of Maine-Farmington on Friday.

On Saturday against the Bantams, Jareno led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run to left field, getting Bates on the board. The home run is the first of his collegiate career after he hit two during his high school career.

With the score tied at two in the bottom of the eighth, Jareno doubled in Jon Lindgren to give the Bobcats the lead for good.

He followed that performance up by going 4-9 with a run scored, a double, an RBI and his first collegiate stolen base in Sunday's doubleheader split with Trinity. Jareno doubled to lead off the ninth inning of game one. He and junior captain Jack Arend pulled off a double steal later in the inning and Jareno scored the winning run on senior Justin White's sacrifice fly.

In 11 games, Jareno is hitting .444 (12-27) on the season.
