Senior designated hitter Griff Tewksbury hit .368 (7-for-19) with two home runs as baseball went 4-2 last week, including a 2-1 series win over Trinity, earning Bobcat of the Week honors for the week of April 14-20.
A native of Concord, N.H., Tewksbury, recorded a .520 on-base percentage and an .842 slugging percentage last week while notching six runs scored and four RBIs. His two home runs pushed his NESCAC-leading total to five on the year.
His homer on Saturday helped Bates beat Trinity 12-7 in game one of a doubleheader, and his blast on Monday aided the Bobcats in defeating Fisher College, 4-0, in game two of that twin bill.
On the season, the St. Paul’s School product has hit .348 and leads the team in RBIs (24), home runs (five), on-base percentage (.453), slugging percentage (.607), triples (two), runs scored (24), and walks (14).
Tewksbury and the Bobcats next play at Husson on Wednesday in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. before opening a NESCAC East Division series with Colby on Friday at 3 p.m. at Leahey Field.
