Junior Sean Enos, the USTFCCCA New England Field Athlete of the Year, picked up his fourth and fifth career All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn Bobcat of the Week accolades for the week of May 26 to June 1.
Over the weekend of May 22-24, Enos placed fourth in both the discus throw and the hammer throw to secure All-America status in both events. The Lynnfield, Mass., native tossed a personal-best 52.45 meters (172 feet, 1 inch) in the discus, two days after notching a personal-record 60.62 meters (198 feet, 11 inches) in the hammer.
Earlier this year at the NCAA Indoor Championships, the St. John’s Prep product garnered his second and third All-America honors with a second-place finish in the shot put (57 feet, 8.25 inches) and an eight-place finish in the weight throw (60 feet, 9.25 inches). In 2013, he collected his first All-America laurel with a fourth-place finish in the discus at the outdoor meet.
Enos stands as the seventh Bobcat in program history to gain five or more All-America honors, joining David Pless ’13 (10), Justin Easter ’03 (6, 7 including Nordic skiing), John Fitzgerald ’87 (5), Peter Goodrich ’89 (5), Lucas Adams ’00 (5), and Matt Twiest ’00 (5).
