First-year Alex Kovacs (Hopkinton, Mass.) anchors a Bates defense that posted back-to-back shutouts in NESCAC action over the weekend. The Bobcats defeated No. 15 Middlebury 1-0 on Saturday and blanked Trinity 2-0 on Sunday.

The Bobcats are allowing just 0.48 goals per match, tied for the third-best mark in the NESCAC this season. 

At 7-2-1, the Bates men's soccer team is off to its best start through 10 matches since 2005.
