Lewin in second place after day one of Bobcat Invitational

AUBURN, Maine -- Senior Julien Lewin sits in second place out of 23 players at the Bobcat Invitational after he shot a 76 Saturday at Martindale Country Club.
Lewin (Seattle, Wash.) birdied the third hole and recorded seven straight pars to end his round trailing Husson's Nick Mazurek by just one stroke. 
Bates as a team sits in third place, one stroke behind Bowdoin and four strokes ahead of Colby. Senior captain Andrew Garcia-Bou (Eastchester, N.Y.) recorded three birdies on his way to an 80, the second-best score for Bates on the day. He sits tied for eighth in the field with three other players.
On the women's side, the Bobcats sit second out of three teams, 17 strokes back of Bowdoin but 30 strokes ahead of Husson. 
First-year Chloe Baylor (Lincoln, Neb.) is in the mix for medalist honors after shooting an 83 on day one, two strokes back of the co-leaders. First-year Sora Park (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) shot an 89, tied for fifth out of 15 competitors.
The Bobcat Invitational wraps up Sunday starting at 11am.
